How am I going about jumping up in page rank without paid advertising?I’m running about 3 websites at the same time; two of them are my own, www.donteatnuts.com, www.invitesforu.com, and one is for my sister’s new found company www.zinafiore.com. I am working on a low budget way to get the websites up in to the web and Google. All of these sites are fairly new and the Alexa page rankings have gone up quite a bit. You will see from the statistics below: This website is selling invitations, greetings and other party gifts and favors.
This website is dedicated to people with allergies to peanuts and nuts with information and recipes that can be very useful. How is I am making the traffic rank jump so high in so little time? There is no secret really. I’ve been writing blogs like this one with useful information. The birth of all these 3 sites is only 2 months. Therefore to have such a big jump in Traffic Rank without any real paid per click advertising or any paid advertising at all is fairly big. Another way that I intend to eventually market some of these sites is useful videos. You can post these educational videos or even videos about your company giving away useful and free information by posting them on YouTube. So the big answer here is Blogging! Using Wordpress as your blog structure is a good way to go too. Why? Because Wordpress is also high up in the page rankings. This making your site also high up in rankings if you leave that your website was created with Wordpress somewhere on your website. The best place for it is usually the footer of the page. We lost a legend today as we all know. Michael Jackson, an artist, king of pop, entertainer, you name it he was a legend. Sometimes it is important to put business aside and express your sympathies, sorrows, and memories with others. Today many people are mourning the loss of what was a living legend and now his legend will stay with us even though he has parted. Any kid growing up in the 80s knows all of the big hits the Michael performed. How many times did you wait late at night because you knew he would be performing any minute on television? I can tell you there were many nights. Now as the music industry grows, it is not like the music of the 80s. This is when big hair and hairspray were the big thing was in town. Even nowadays you hear Michael Jackson and it is fresh! You still want to blast his music and don’t care who is listening..Now this is music! Going to a club, lounge or even a cafe, Michael’s music still plays and livens up the place and somehow puts a smile on your face. After all it’s not the 80s without Michael Jackson. As the shocking news came to family, friends and family and hearing bits of pieces of Michael’s music, you couldn’t help but feel something leave your soul. Michael was a part of my child hood as he was for many others and somehow knew that he would make a big come back for all his fans. Personally, I would have loved for him to stay with us longer, but after watching the news today, all the fame and paparazzi; you say to yourself that at least now he is resting. He will no longer be bothered by the media and other crazy people. You can sign the Memorial for Michael on Facebook by following the below link: http://apps.facebook.com/ripmichaeljackson/index/2 It has been a very sad day for everyone. Everyone had a little bit of Michael Jackson in their hearts. |
Be careful when choosing the right Hosting Provider!Ok so I just had the worst experience with the hosting provider, after days of the site going down due to a “POWER SUPPLY” that went down on them and my first week at transferring the site to them, it was been horrific! I transferred my site on June 8, 2009 from one server to Ipower hosting and only on June 18, 2009 was the site finally working without interruption or down time! That’s a whole 10 days of loss of sales, talking to tech support 10 times a day and maybe about 4 phone calls to customer service. I will post some of the chats that was going on. It was like they were trained to say what they had to say. I really thought I was talking to a robot instead of a person at some points since they kept on repeating the same exact sentences from one technical support guy to the next, which is including talking on the phone, they would say the exact same protocol as if I were in a chat room with them. As soon as I noticed the site went down due to power supply failure, I could not afford down time, so I switched to another back up hosting provider Hostmonster, right away. What a mess! I should have placed the web site directly on the Hostmonster server in the first place if I had known the troubles Ipower would have caused me. I was so frustrated with Ipower due to lack of communication with customers and rectifying a problem that definitely was on their end. They said I would get responses within 24 hours but did not get any response til a good 48 hours even after explaining to them the urgency of the problem. Now I have done my research and there are people who have had their bad experiences with Hostmonster too, but so far I cannot complain with their services. The only thing that they don’t provide and would eventually be good to have is Virtual Private Hosting. Right now they only offer Shared Hosting Service. Even with 10 websites on 1 account, the servers are really fast. I have had a couple of issues with Hostmonster too but the problem was rectified within hours..not days. There are also other websites such as GoDaddy, that I heard has a really good service but have not yet tested it. Don’t get me wrong here, I have been with Ipower for many years and hosted my own website Lugrafix back in 2006 and only recently changed my services to Hostmonster late 2008. I never really updated my website til then to promote my services. I am happy I did since Ipower has slow service, a slow server and not too mention people that are trained like robots to answer your questions. It all started when I logged into the Tuscows to change the name servers over to hostmonster.com’s name servers. What a disaster! Keep in mind the server was already down for 2 days and as I explained there was no time to have this down time, so I had to take things into my own hands and work fast to keep my customers pleased. Customers come first in my case, however, customer service at Ipower, not too sure!
Now why was I getting so frustrated towards the end? The web site was already down for the past 2 or 3 days and there was no one available to take care of the problem right away. I understand that they might have been overloaded, however, if people are changing servers and quickly it is because your service is not good enough. Now this is only one of the similar questions and responsed I was receiving. My favorite part was when I tried contacting the Sales department and see if I could get a supervisor there..the guy that I caught through chat said that he would call me and did..guess what, he was trying to sell me a better service. I explained to him as I was even more frustrated now, that instead of trying to sell me another service, they should try to fix the problem with the current service I already have. Salesman didn’t like this response to much and still kept persisting to try and sell me off with another service. Now as a web designer and developer, I am giving you advice on what services you should choose from if you are looking for a simple shared hosting service. Hostmonster offers shared hosting where as www.GoDaddy.com If any one else has had similar conversations and or problems, I would love to hear it as these guys have A LOT and I MEAN A LOT of work to do in terms of customer service! |
